Advanced Electromagnetics

In my eyes the study of electromagnetism is the study life itself. Every matter that we can observe is connected through its interactions with the electromagnetic spectrum. By studying this subject I feel more connected with the environment around me. Hope the reader can feel my fascination through my notes.

This course builds onto the basic concepts in the field (nothing basic about them, trust me) with the aim of preparing the student for research in the broad field of applied electromagnetism. The curriculum explores the following topics:

  1. Maxwell's equations with magnetic sources and boundary conditions.
  2. Electromagnetic properties of matter.
  3. Radiation from sources, vector potentials and radiation integrals.
  4. Wave equation and its solution in rectangular, circular-cylindrical, and spherical coordinates.
  5. Electromagnetic theorems and principles.
  6. Integral equations and method of moments.
  7. Plane wave scattering from two- and three-dimensional conducting and dielectric objects.
